Ideally most people nowadays have some form of games console and so it would be great if Puppy Arcade made it easy to use a WII remote or an XBOX controller. The Puppy Arcade desktop appears and you are asked to choose your language, timezone and keyboard layout. I have therefore decided to conduct this review on the same laptop that I used to review Puppy Arcade 10, the trusty old Samsung R20.įirst Boot When you boot for the first time you will be asked to choose between xorg and xvesa and you will be asked to choose your display configuration. There is a newer version of Puppy Arcade 11 for newer hardware available at this page although it is a test version. There was a loud beep every time I clicked on an icon and the display was stuck at 800圆00. When I tried Puppy Arcade on my newer Toshiba Satellite Pro it didn't work properly. Click here to learn how to create a bootable Linux USB drive using UNetbootin. Normally when I install Puppy to USB I create a CD first, boot the CD and then use the Puppy Universal Installer to create a bootable USB drive.įor Puppy Arcade it was possible to use UNetbootin although the official readme suggests using the Frugal installer from the CD. Note that there are three download links listed. It includes emulators for every games console imaginable as well as ROM loading software and joystick calibration. There are a number of Puppy derivatives available including MacPup and Simplicity. Puppy is designed to run from a USB drive and not for installation on a hard drive. Puppy Linux is a lightweight distribution built to run in memory and therefore the overall footprint is very small. I received an email a little while back now asking me to take another look at Puppy Arcade as version 11 has been released. In that review I highlighted that the concept was good but the overall experience could be improved. One of the first reviews I posted on Everyday Linux User was for Puppy Arcade 10.

For non-metal elements, the colour will be plugged in as diffuse reflection. Base color: this contains colour information for both metal and non-metal elements. If you press the C key in Substance, you’ll be able to switch between the texture maps, including: Reviewing the Textures in Substance Painter What I have done is use a combination of metal presets and non-metal presets from which we can generate all the maps we’ll need for our shader. I just merely slapped them onto the model □ In fact, I would go further and say – I’ve done around 5% of texturing and used other peoples work from the wonderful team at Substance as these presets were created by them. I’ve baked some Mesh Maps and then I spent a few minutes using a combination of presets to create the following set of textures. …and in Adobe Substance Painter 3D Painter 7.4.0, I’m using a Metal Roughness template, UDIM workflow and I’ve enabled the OpenColorIO Color management profile. This could be the reason why you have so many video duplicates in your Photos account. However& when you carry out the same operation for videos& Google Photos will duplicate them. By multiple devices& we mean a computer& smartphone& tablet& etc. If you are uploading photos from multiple devices to Google Photos& they don’t duplicate. As such& it uploads a similar copy from your device. This is probably why Google Photos doesn’t recognize the photos as duplicates. This app was prone to altering image metadata before uploads. Picasa& for example& didn’t work by the de-duplication algorithm. Using the drag and drop method or Backup and Sync to upload the same photos will create duplicates. You may have used an old app like Picasa or Desktop Uploader to back up the photos or videos before now. Many of us are not new to backing up our photos. As long as there is a difference in the photo& Google Photos backs it up even if it is very slight. If you have made alterations using a Photo editing app like Photoshop& the feature won’t apply. This is why you see near duplicates in your Google Photos account. The duplicate detection feature does not regard such photos as duplicates. Check out some of these instances below: Little alterations to the photosĬertain photos look very similar& but they bear slight alterations. However& there are some instances where this feature doesn’t prevent the app from uploading duplicates. The same happens if you have previously uploaded the photo to Google Photos. If you even select the same photo more than once& the app skips the rest and picks one. This feature prevents Google Photos from uploading the same photo twice. The question that begs an answer is& “why does Google Photos generate duplicates?” Everyone knows that Google Photos makes use of a duplicate detection algorithm. Of course& we all don’t want to duplicate photos when we have limited storage space. It is even more rampant among individuals that store loads of images. Almost everyone that uses this app has them. If you think that it is only in your Google Photos that there are duplicates& you are wrong.
